- "Welcome to Wispermill, the village on the frontier of the Flatlands. We're a small farming village so there's nothing special here beyond our windmills. Please enjoy your stay though." —Villager at Wispermill's entrance
Wispermill is a location in Octopath Traveler, where Ophilia's final chapter takes place. As the village's population was recently ravaged by a plague, the townspeople have fallen under the influence of the Savior who healed the survivors.
Description[]
Wispermill is a secluded hamlet, surrounded by grazing sheep and plentiful vegetable fields. An eerie red light bleeds off the village's horizon, steeping its namesake windmills in an ominous glow. While under the Savior's influence, Wispermill's townsfolk respond to player interactions with blank silence, and each person's biography defines him or her only by "piety."
A forest engulfs the east side of the village, its overgrowth concealing the forbidden entrance of the Ebony Grotto. As one of the smallest towns in Orsterra, Wispermill contains a total of five full buildings, one of which is a prison devoted to locking up dissidents. After its liberation, Wispermill continues to harbor dismal sidequests that involve stopping a greedy owner’s exploitation of the windmills, hunting down hostile remnants of the Savior's cult, and attempting to educate the children who remain too depressed to desire any kind of learning.

Trivia[]
- The price to restore reputation in Wispermill is 6,000 leaves.
- With the exception of Theracio, the player cannot gain info via Inquire/Scrutinize, or use any other Path Actions, on any of the NPCs in Wispermill until they complete Ophilia's Chapter 4, due to all of the town's villagers being under the influence of the Savior's cult.
- A rich aristocrat named Bryan owns all of Wispermill's windmills, and is known for charging exorbitant fees.
- Excluding the quest-based NPCs, who are merely visiting the village, Wispermill has fewer native NPCs than any other town. This is consistent with the town's history of being decimated by plague.
- The Rumormonger living in Wispermill claims to have heard of the game's protagonists.
- When Guided, he says, "I've heard stories about you. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Sister of the Frostlands."
- When Challenged, he says, "I know all about your tales of errantry. I'd be honored to meet your challenge, brave knight."
- One of Grandport's merchants offers "all-natural restoratives straight from Wispermill," implying that Wispermill is a regular producer of Healing Grapes, Inspiriting Plums, Energizing Pomegranates, and Refreshing Jam.
