- "This town's come a long way, but it's still a far cry from what it used to be..." —Townsperson
Wellgrove is a town in Octopath Traveler II, and the setting for Partitio's, Hikari's, and Throné's third chapters. Once prosperous, this city has since fallen into an economic decline.
According to the Mercantile Manuscript, Wellgrove once grew wealthy through a brisk trade with the resource-poor desert regions further south. This disparity in wealth created the seed for ceaseless conflict and turmoil along the border, embroiling Wellgrove and the kingdom of Timberain in battle with immigrants from Sai.
The famously wealthy Lord Alrond lives in an estate in the north part of Wellgrove, while the Dancers' Guild can be found in a house to the north. During his Chapter 3, Partitio revitalizes the economy of Wellgrove by bringing its merchants together into Solistia's first department store.

Trivia[]
- The price to restore reputation in Wellgrove is 6,000 leaves.
- Wellgrove is home to a flower called the well iris, which sports beautiful flowers but fruits that emit a repugnant stench. Using techniques from Cropdale, these fruits can be boiled overnight with wild Cropdale grass, creating a dye both attractive to the eye and repellent toward insects.
- The Dancers' Guild in Wellgrove taught the famous dancer Hermes.
- According to Alrond, Wellgrove is renowned for its drink.
- "A Verdant Wind Blows" is Yasunori Nishiki's favorite town theme in Octopath Traveler II. He composed this piece with a strong Celtic influence, exuding a boundlessly celebratory feel that seems to scatter joy as it goes. Upon receiving the videos of Wellgrove as advance reference material, he decided that an area this beautiful needed a great theme along with a perfect title, and "A Verdant Wind Blows" was the result.[1]
