Wallace Wildsword is a character in Octopath Traveler. He appears as one of Olberic’s competitors in the tournament at Victors Hollow.

Wallace has apparently never won a tournament, always being second to Archibold. He is said to strike with the force of a savage beast. During the tournament, he is defeated and does not battle Olberic.

After Olberic completes his Chapter 4, Wallace can be found in the Tavern in Lower Bolderfall.

Etymology

"Wallace" is a Scottish name derived from the term "waleis," meaning "Welshman." It gradually came to include the connotations of "stranger" or "foreigner" as well. As such, Wallace's name likely symbolizes his feral ways and his estrangement from civilization, which his title "Wildsword" reinforces.
