"Those brutes are always coming around my shop, picking fights that no one ever sought. Can't they find someone else to bother?" —Elderly Shopowner

Up to No Good is a side story in Octopath Traveler. It is activated by speaking with the Elderly Shopowner outside the house at the end of Stonegard Valleys.

Use the Challenge/Provoke Path Action and defeat Tobias, located at the entrance to Stonegard Valleys. Defeating only the Ruffian or Ruffian Lackey will not bring the story to an end, as they will only keep returning. The elderly shopkeeper surmises that someone must have put them up to this.

Thoroughly chastised, the wayward merchant Tobias vowed to turn over a new leaf and take over the shop.

Alternatively, travel to Sunshade. Use the Guide/Allure Path Action to bring the Amnesiac Girl, located outside the provisioner store, to Stonegard Valleys. The Amnesiac Girl is revealed to be Layla, the Ruffian's sister who he thought had drowned.

The ruffian leader was reunited with his sister whom he had presumed dead. He has since changed his ways and now earns an honest living at the shop he once hassled.
