- "Hmm... This town is as beautiful as the first day I laid eyes on it." —Local soldier
Timberain is a town and kingdom in Octopath Traveler II, located in the Leaflands. It is the setting for Castti's Chapter 4.
According to the Mercantile Manuscript, the small lakeside kingdom of Timberain is surrounded by great sweeps of verdant forest, making the land rich in natural resources. Thick woodland loam provides fertile ground for agriculture, and the seemingly inexhaustible supply of trees fuels industries such as lumber and paper manufacturing.
Ruled by a king and a royal family, Timberain harks back to a more antiquated time period than most parts of Solistia. Four years ago, Timberain waged against Sai to prevent Sai's immigrants from seeking work there, but after Castti's intervention in the war, hostilities have died down. Workers from Sai are still known to come to Timberain in secret.
Timberain's aristocracy is known for its power and privilege, while its courthouse evidently undertakes cases from across the western continent.

During her Chapter 3, Castti learns that the upcoming coronation is Trousseau's next target for a poisonous massacre. She arrives at the city in her Chapter 4, warning the city's soldiers of the impending threat. Although the soldiers initially laugh at her predictions of toxic purple rain, she wins them over with the help of Griff and Edmund, who evacuate the townspeople indoors.
As the townspeople huddle inside, Castti braves the rain to confront Trousseau at the top of Timberain Castle. After a fierce battle, she kills him, and concocts the cure to his poisonous rain. Using the cure, she heals everyone who has been infected, allowing Timberain's coronation to conclude in peace.
