Throne Guardian is an enemy in Octopath Traveler. It is the mini-boss of The Hollow Throne located in the Flatlands via Western Noblecourt Flats. It guards a treasure chest which contains the sword Moonblade.
After defeating the Throne Guardian inside The Hollow Throne, the player has a 3% chance of fighting a Throne Guardian as a random encounter there.
Battle[]
- Attack - Standard physical attack. Hits single target once.
- Overclock - Applies Increased Physical Attack, Increased Elemental Attack, Increased Physical Defense, Increased Elemental Defense and Increased Speed to Throne Guardian for 3 turns.
- Body Armor - Moves own action to the beginning of the next turn.

- The Throne Guardian has the highest HP stat out of all the optional dungeon boss encounters, with 30,307.
- Likewise, it is the only optional dungeon boss that uses the "boss defeat" animation with silver smoke.
- Unlike all other dungeon bosses, the Throne Guardian possesses a Basket of Inspiriting Plums instead of a Revitalizing Jam.
- While the Throne Guardian's sprite is identical to a Dark Revenant, its attacks are instead the same as the normal, non-elemental Revenant, while its stats are almost the same as Jötunn's, having higher Accuracy, Evasion, Critical and Speed stats.
- When engaging the Throne Guardian in its scripted encounter, it will play the same sound Revenant enemies play when encountered. When encountering it in a random battle, a different sound plays.
- Throne Guardian is the only optional dungeon encounter that cannot be captured by H'aanit.
- It is also the only dungeon boss that does not make a return in Octopath Traveler II.
