Support Skills are a recurring Category:Game Mechanics that allows travelers to equip various effects based on the level of skill mastery for each job.
Support Skills in Octopath Traveler have a variety of passive effects that include but are not limited to the following:
- Increase the traveler's attributes in battle
- Decrease chance of random encounters
- Apply permanent buffs to travelers and temporary debuffs to enemies
- Remove damage and healing limits
Support skills are unlocked automatically and independently for each traveler as the total number of skills for the corresponding jobs are learned.
Each traveler may equip up to 4 support skills at one time. Any unlocked support skills by the traveler may be used by that traveler only; support skills are not locked to active jobs and may be mixed and matched to create powerful combinations.
