- This page is about the Path Action, Steal. For the skill of the same name, see Steal (Skill) (Octopath Traveler II).
Steal is a recurring path action.
Steal is Throné Anguis's Path Action in Octopath Traveler. This ability allows Throné to steal items from townsfolk, including some items that are not sold in stores or are otherwise exclusive to chests.
Gameplay[]
Items that can be obtained with Steal include rare items or powerful weapons. Certain items cannot be stolen.
Each item in an NPC's possession has a Success Rate. The success rate is based on three factors:
- Throné's level
- Item's Steal Level
- Thieving Tips & Tricks
If Throné's level is equal to or greater than that of the Steal Level of the item she wishes to Steal, she will have a 100% success rate. If the item has a higher Steal Level than Throné's Level, her success rate will be determined by the following table:
Success Rate | Level Difference |
---|---|
By gleaning information from certain NPCs in towns, Throné can improve her Success Rate for the associated NPC's town only. This adds ### to Throné's level when calculating chance of success for the current town.
For instance, if Throné is level 10 and is trying to steal an item with a Steal Level of ###, she will have a ###% Success Rate. With Thieving Tips & Tricks, Throné's effective level will be ###, and she will have a 100% success rate.
If Throné fails her attempt to steal an item, the travelers' reputation in the current town will drop by one.
