Southern Wellspring Sands is a location in Octopath Traveler. Contrary to what its name may imply, it is not part of the game's main trail network; it is instead a connecting route between Wellspring and the Black Market.

- Depending on a choice the player makes, Southern Wellspring Sands can play host to one of two different cutscenes. If the player chooses to steal the list from the Wellspring tavern keeper, "Off to the Market" will play in Wellspring and "Stone Stolen" will play here; if the player chooses to steal a mask instead, "Off to the Market" will play here and "Stone Stolen" will play inside the Black Market.
- The Southern Wellspring Sands has the highest average Leaf yield from random encounters of any middle ring area, excluding the Danger Level 48 Forest of No Return.
