Sonzon the Flameguard is an enemy in Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent. He is the boss in Bestower of All, Chapter IV.

Battle[]

In this battle, Rondo will be a NPC ally.

  • Light Dragon's Arcana // Sonzon prepares a magic stratagem!: Start of battle and can be used at the end of a turn after recovering from a break. Imparts self with permanent Buff Elem. Atk. Up Elem. Atk. Up , Buff Elem. Def. Up Elem. Def. Up  and Buff Spd. Up Spd. Up . Lock Sword, Fan and Ice weaknesses (Type Swords LockedType AxesType BowsType Fans LockedType Ice LockedType Dark). Effects are removed after switching to Dragonblade's Arcana or Blademaster's Arcana.
    • Light Dragon's Shot: Deal Type Light damage to single target. Restore BP by 3.
    • Wild Light Dragon's Shot: Deal Type Light damage to random target 3 time(s). Inflict Status Paralysis Paralysis (The target has a certain chance of being unable to act) with every attack for 3 turns. Restore BP by 3.
    • Light Dragon's Breath: Deal Type Light damage to Front. Restore BP by 3.
    • Light Dragon's Judgement: At full BP. Deal Type Light damage to single target.
  • Dragonblade's Arcana // Sonzon prepares to defend himself!: Can be used at the end of a turn after recovering from a break. Imparts self with permanent Buff Phys. Atk. Up Phys. Atk. Up , Buff Phys. Def. Up Phys. Def. Up , Buff Elem. Atk. Up Elem. Atk. Up , Buff Elem. Def. Up Elem. Def. Up , Buff Spd. Up Spd. Up  and Buff Crit. Up Crit. Up . Lock Sword and one random weaknesses (Type Swords LockedType AxesType BowsType FansType IceType Dark) and permanently increases his actions per turn to two. Effects are removed after switching to Light Dragon's Arcana or Blademaster's Arcana.
    • Stalwart Blade of the Flame: Deal Type Swords damage and Type Light damage to single target. Restore BP by 1.
    • Mighty Fangs of the Flame: Deal Type Swords damage and Type Light damage to single target. Impart Debuff Phys. Atk. Down Phys. Atk. Down  and Debuff Elem. Atk. Down Elem. Atk. Down  for 3 turns. Restore BP by 1.
    • Twin Claws of the Flame: Deal Type Swords damage to single target and deal Type Light damage to random target. Inflict CotC Status Silence Silence (The target will be not able to use one skill) for 3 turns. Restore BP by 1.
    • Wingcutter of the Flame: Deal Type Swords damage and Type Light damage to Front. Impart Debuff Spd. Down Spd. Down  for 3 turns. Restore BP by 1.
    • Light Dragon Blade: At full BP. Deal Type Swords damage and Type Light damage to Front.
  • Blademaster's Arcana: Can be used at the end of a turn after recovering from a break. Imparts self with permanent Buff Phys. Atk. Up Phys. Atk. Up , Buff Phys. Def. Up Phys. Def. Up  and Buff Crit. Up Crit. Up . Locks Sword weakness (Type Swords LockedType AxesType BowsType FansType IceType Dark). Summons two Sacred Flames. Effects are removed when switching to Light Dragon's Arcana or Dragonblade's Arcana.
    • Magic Counter Stance // Sonzon prepares a magic stratagem!: Imparts self with permanent Buff Repel Elem. Repel Elem. (The target will counter elemental damage). Counters with Light Dragon's Wrath.
      • Light Dragon's Wrath: Deal Type Light damage to single target. Restore BP by 2.
    • Guardbreaker: Deal Type Light damage to random target 3 time(s). Impart Debuff Phys. Def. Down Phys. Def. Down  and Debuff Elem. Def. Down Elem. Def. Down  with every attack for 3 turns. Restore BP by 2.
    • Sacred Spirit Strike: Deal Type Light damage to Front. Restore BP by 2.
    • Blade of Judgement // The party is hit with a lacerating attack!: At full BP. Deal Type Swords damage to Front and Back.

  • Lightprone (All) II - Inflict Debuff Light Res. Down Light Res. Down  to Front by 15% for 2 turns.
  • Lower Defense II - Impart Debuff Phys. Def. Down Phys. Def. Down  and Debuff Phys. Def. Down Phys. Def. Down  to single target for 3 turns.
  • Luminescence (Single) II - Deal Type Light damage to single target.
  • The Sacred Flame is absorbed into Sonzon...: End of turn. Deal overkill damage to self and imparts 1 BP to Sonzon.
  • The Sacred Flame wavers...: Randomly used at the end of the turn or if Sonzon is broken/not longer on the battlefield. Does nothing, basically skip its action.
