- "Welcome to Saintsbridge! Have you been to our beautiful cathedral yet? The great bridge spanning the river that runs through the center of town is also something of a landmark." —Townsperson
Saintsbridge is a town in Octopath Traveler. This peaceful Riverlands city is the setting for Ophilia's Chapter 2 and Alfyn's Chapter 3.
Description[]
As its name suggests, Saintsbridge is built upon a great river that divides the city into two districts, Downstream and Upstream. A large, many-valved stone bridge crosses the river and lends the city its name. Upstream is the city's wealthier district, containing the Saintsbridge Cathedral and a square that is reputedly “popular with little’uns and grannies." The Downstream district, on the other hand, is a hamlet for the common folk. Both parts of the city are well-ordered and tranquil.
The land surrounding Saintsbridge provides a fertile grounds for growing plants. Many rare herbs and plants grow in the city's vicinity, including apothecarial ingredients such as lion's ear, sweet wormwood, and white skullcap. Additionally, Saintsbridge is reported to possess rich vineyards.

Trivia[]
- The price to restore reputation in Saintsbridge is 8,000 leaves.
- According to the official Octopath Traveler guidebook, Saintsbridge is where Therion first met Darius. Since the two met in prison, Saintsbridge is therefore confirmed to have a large prison that only appears in one cutscene, not in the rest of the game.
- During banter in Ophilia's Chapter 2, Alfyn mentions that he journeyed to Saintsbridge as part of his apothecary training.
- The priesthood in Saintsbridge has the power to ordain priests.[1]
- As revealed by The Worrywart, Saintsbridge's waters are currently rising on account of snowmelt in the north, to recede again seasonally.
- The local Worrywart has a humorous biography: "A man who worries over anything and everything. His fears include but are not limited to: disgruntled neighbors, gangs of roving bandits, hordes of ravenous monsters, various natural disasters, otherworldly beings dwelling deep within the earth, whether or not it will rain on the morrow, the ephemeral nature of existence, that sinister-looking kid surely plotting to kill him..." His inventory is full of Olives of Life as if to secure insurance against an untimely demise, and he stammers uncertainly in every Path Action dialogue.
- A young bully who picks on the other children of Saintsbridge can be found on the north side of the town, boasting that he's "plucked all their precious little flowers." His biography reveals that though he seems to take pleasure in playing tricks on others, deep down he only wants to be liked by everyone.
- Said bully carries a River Blossom, whose description calls it "The favored flower of many in town."
- Saintsbridge's resident baker has made a name for himself by making decorative loaves shaped like animals and flowers, which reportedly made quite a hit. A former artist, he traded the brush for bake ware and runs a profitable business with his younger brother, whose biography reveals that he pursued his passion of painting despite their father's violence. Everything he creates now stems from memories of his youth. He also has a unique skill: "Fresh from the Oven."
- The Old Man on Saintsbridge's western end used to train the townsfolk in basic self-defense. Appropriately, he is quite strong and carries a shield and spear, and claims that he hunted a few monsters in his day when Provoked.
- "River of Life" features guitar arpeggios throughout its length, emphasizing a sound texture reminiscent of the Riverlands. Its drums are also used as a rhythm, while the rim shots in particular add a touch of rustic flair to the song. Yasunori Nishiki hopes that listeners can sense the gentle nuances in line with Alfyn's theme.[2]
