"Welcome to Ryu, traveler. I hope you have a nice stay." —Local Elder

Ryu is a small desert town in Octopath Traveler II. It is where Hikari's Chapter 1 ends, and where he can be recruited if he is not chosen as the protagonist.

According to the Mercantile Manuscript, Ryu is a well-known traveler's stop where information from all across the world eventually settles.

Trivia[]

  • Ryu is the smallest town in the game.
  • The price to restore reputation in Ryu is 3,750 leaves.
  • Ryu is single-handedly run by an old man who raised the outpost out of the ground with his own money, and is now known for this honesty and fairness among the travelers who pass through. One of the peddlers is attempting to claim the outpost on his own and has already made a number of investments to raise his own stature, but the elder in charge permits him to do so for the sake of Ryu's development.
  • Among Ryu's residents is a man who lends out horses, camels, and more to those in need.
  • A pair of Ryu's merchants hail from Sai, having uprooted their entire family to move to the outpost.
