- "Everything on this island is the personal property of President Roque. Including the people who work here..." — Tavern Assistant
Roque Island is a town in Octopath Traveler II, owned by the magnate Roque Brilliante. As it is Roque's private property, no ferries sail to the island, requiring players to have purchased Terry's ship before they can reach it.
All of the NPCs at Roque Island are detailed with registration numbers, job descriptions, and salaries rather than regular biographies. Every one of Roque's employees live on-site, though the rent is not cheap. According to one townsperson, all of the shops on the island are subsidiaries of the same group, comprising a system rigged to take back every leaf that the Roque Company pays out in wages.
During Partitio's Chapter 4, a secret passage in the tavern is opened, providing access to a new path into Roque Island: Headquarters.

Trivia[]
- Roque Island is one of six towns in Octopath Traveler II that has a unique musical theme not repeated in other towns, the others being Tropu'hopu, Oresrush, Flamechurch, Cropdale, and Ku: Castle Town.
- The price to restore reputation in Roque Island is 12,000 leaves.
- After Partitio's Winterbloom Scent of Commerce, a Music Merchant appears on the island. His possessions include all four of the game's regular battle themes: "Normal Battle I," "Normal Battle II," "Normal Battle III," and "Battle on the Sea." Incidentally, both he and the music merchant in Merry Hills: Shrine Entrance will at night mention how records fly when thrown.
- Many of Roque's employees use an ability called "Throw Wrench" in battle, a single-hit version of the same attack used by Thurston.
- According to a local Guard, the nightlife on Roque Island is nonexistent.
- The factory on Roque Island mass-produces inexpensive, high-quality military gear so popular with buyers that several pay bribes to obtain as much of it as possible.
- A statue of Roque can be seen in the center of the city.
- Given the pollution created by its factories, Roque Island has poor air quality.
- According to a local Affluent Man, Roque Island contains a "top-secret zone" somewhere. No one knows what is made there, but this rumor likely refers to the area behind the gate where Roque stores the Steam Tank Obsidian.
- The engineer who designed Roque Island's foundations used innovative architectural techniques decades ahead of their time, but he is now under heavy surveillance due to knowing too many of the Roque Company's secrets.
- Among the factory's many suppliers is a member of a criminal gang that smuggles in certain licit materials required for new product development. The gang is paid in weapons produced at the factory, which they then sell on the black market.
- The theme "Roque Island, Full Steam Ahead" can be originally translated as "Roque Island, Heartbeat of Steam." This title expresses what Yasunori Nishiki sought to express musically: the idea that Solistia is about to modernize following the invention of the steam engine, and that the beating heart of this process makes the whole island pulse. The sounds making up the theme's rhythm are samples of actual iron and wood and other substances being struck, enhanced and edited as synthesizer sounds, to create a sound like an engine’s heartbeat. Meanwhile, the main melody is played on low instruments such as cello and trombone, which makes the sound feel solid and weighty, as if its center of gravity had been lowered. In the night version, Nishiki aimed to convey a sense of the pulse quieting as the island goes to sleep following the day’s work. As the workers rest, the island slumbers; when morning comes, its pulse will beat again.[1]
