
Reputation is a gameplay mechanic in Octopath Traveler and Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent.
Gameplay[]
Reputation is background stat that affects which Path Action can be performed on the town's inhabitants. Each town tracks reputation separately and upon entering a town for the first time, you have a neutral reputation.
Decreasing Reputation[]
Reputation is decreased when you fail a rogue Path Action. The following path actions are considered rogue:
If you fail rogue Path Actions five times, you will be unable to perform any Path Actions with the townspeople in that town until you restore your reputation.
Restoring Reputation[]
Reputation can be restored in one of two ways:
Decreasing Reputation[]
Reputation is decreased when you fail negotiations regardless the Path Action. It takes five times to be unable to negotiate with the townspeople until the reputation is restored.
Restoring Reputation[]
Reputation can be restored in one of two ways:
- The bartender can restore it for a fee.
- The player will have their reputation restored by one each 24 hours.
