- "I have betrayed my brethren, but I do not regret it. Meeting you was our lord's will, cleric. And now I have been given a chance to atone..." —To Temenos
Reiza is a character in Octopath Traveler II. She is a woman living in Crackridge, as well as a member of the Moonshade Order.
Profile[]
Appearance[]
Reiza wears a black dress with a crescent moon necklace. She wields a staff in battle.
Personality[]
Reiza is a deceptive and changeable woman, first pretending to be an innocent traveler in need of protection, then ambushing Temenos with innuendo before turning on him in sudden violence. After he deflects her attack, Reiza appears to undergo a change of heart and leads him to the Fellsun Ruins, betraying the Moonshade Order's secrecy in the process. At the end of his chapter she seems to be stricken with grief over the massacre of the Kal, asking for Temenos's judgment; however, her readiness to veer between persuasive tactics throws some doubt onto the sincerity of her repentance.
History[]
(I don't think this is where I should be going at the moment...) The following section contains potential story spoilers! |
Prior to living in Crackridge, Reiza lived in an unknown village that was consumed by fire. A "lord" spoke to them about this calamity, claiming that the Order of the Sacred Flame caused it. The survivors of the fire, including Reiza, converted to the Moonshade Order, who later killed the Kal people.
The Moonshade Order later sent Reiza to stop Temenos from reaching the Fellsun Ruins outside of Crackridge, posing as a traveler wanting him to guide her outside of town. While traveling, she flirts with him, but is forced to drop her act and attack when Temenos sees through her story. Temenos deflects her attack, calling out her reluctance to keep attacking. Knowing that he is right, she agrees to take him to the ruins.
After Temenos completes his investigation of the ruins, Reiza tells him of her past and her role in it. She then asks Temenos to render judgement on her, but the inquisitor refuses, telling her she must atone for her own sins before leaving her at the ruins entrance.
