Provoke is a recurring path action.
Provoke is Ochette's daytime Path Action in Octopath Traveler II. The ability allows Ochette to set beasts on certain non-playable characters in the game, who must then duel her in one-to-one combat.
Gameplay[]
Ochette may provoke most townspeople if the travelers' reputation in the current town is still in good standing.
When Ochette provokes a townsperson, she engages the townsperson in a one-on-one duel; all other party members will be excluded from the fight. Ochette may not attack or use her hunter skills in battle and will need to rely on captured beasts or items. Ochette may also always gain the initiative in battle if the information Provoke Like a Pro has been gleaned from certain NPCs in the current town.
- Should Ochette lose the battle, the following occurs:
- Ochette will be revived at 1 HP.
- The travelers' reputation in the current town will also suffer, dropping by one level.
- Should Ochette defeat the townsperson, the following occurs:
- The townsperson will be rendered unconscious. If the townsperson was previously blocking a path, the path will be cleared, but no other Path Actions may be used on the townsperson until the travelers leaves the area and return.
