- This page is about the generic poison inflicted in most situations. For the special poison inflicted by the Venomtooth Tiger, see Peerless Poison.
Poison is a Status Ailment in Octopath Traveler.
Effects[]
For the duration of the effect, creatures take damage proportional to their maximum HP after each action, including bonus actions as a result of Patience. The damage taken depends on the type of creature that is poisoned:
- Travelers and Monsters: 17% (1/6) of their max health
- Townspeople during Challenge/Provoke: 5% (1/20) of their max health
- Bosses: 1% (1/100) of their max health
Additional applications of the same ailment on the same target stack their remaining duration additively, up to a maximum of 9 turns.
Causes[]
The Apothecary skill Empoison is the only Job Skill that can Poison. Alfyn's Concoct Talent can inflict poison with some of its combinations. Many enemies can inflict poison with various skills; some weapons can also inflict it. A Bottle of Poison Dust can poison enemies as well.
