Trivia[]
- In Octopath Traveler's Japanese version, this enemy is called "ツバサトカゲ", officially translated as "Snow Drake." In Octopath Traveler II, its name would be corrected to "ツバサトカゲ別種", translated as "Plains Drake." For some reason, in the western release, both drakes had their names swapped. This may be related to the first game having the Snow Drake and Plains Drake's categorization swapped in the game files (Snow Drake as a "DraPln" and Plains Drake as a "DraSnw") and Octopath Traveler II 's western release still keeping the same filenames of the original game.
- Unlike in the main games, this drake's spritesheet is accurately tagged as an plains enemy in Champions of the Continent's old files, but was used to depict a "Snow Drake" enemy in the Frostlands, while the short-winged drake is labeled as a snow enemy, but was used for a "Plains Drake" in the Riverlands.
- Those facts occurring while Octopath Traveler II was in development phase, alongside the confusing file categorization, could have led the Octopath Traveler II's translation/localization to think that was the correct one. Only the Japanese version had their name fixed in the official release.
- In Side Solistia, this enemy is using the correct spritesheet.
