- "We'll make this town twice as prosperous as it once was!" —Townsperson
Oresrush is a town in Octopath Traveler II. As the hometown of Partitio, it serves as the setting of his Chapter 1, as well as the setting for Throné's Chapter 2: Mother's Route.
According to the Mercantile Manuscript, the volcanic soil around the city conceals a wealth of valuable materials. Many small mining towns have sprung up in the vicinity, including the southern town of Oresrush, established by silver merchants Papp and Roque.
Story[]
Sixteen years ago, Papp and Roque purchased the land on which Oresrush was built and constructed the thriving mining town. At its peak eight years later, the town became one of the continent's most plentiful sources of silver; one bag of its silver sold for 1,800,000 leaves.
Shortly afterward, the town's prosperity came to an end when the previous landowner bought back the town and enacted a heavy tax on its silver. Oresrush's residents fell into poverty, struggling to find work and subsisting off dry crusts of bread. Eventually Partitio and his posse of pals rallied to confront the corrupt landowner's minion, Giff. Recovering the wealth of silver that Giff had stolen, Partitio revitalized his town's economy and gave it new hope for the future.

Trivia[]
- Oresrush is one of six towns in Octopath Traveler II that has a unique theme not repeated in other towns, the others being Tropu'hopu, Roque Island, Flamechurch, Cropdale, and Ku: Castle Town.
- Also, Oresrush, along with Healeaks (later the Abandoned Village), is the only town with a temporary secondary theme, as it plays "Oresrush, Dried Up" during Partitio's first chapter. After completing it, Oresrush's regular themes will play for the rest of the game, though the music track can still be purchased or stolen after completing The Scent of Commerce in Winterbloom.
- The saddlery in Oresrush serves as a front for contacting the Slaver.
- Oresrush appears in four different states throughout the course of the story, three of which are only explorable during Partitio's Chapter 1.
- 16 years ago - the town has not yet been built; only a barren plot of land exists. Partitio is a child at this time. (Music: "Oresrush, Dried Up")
- 8 years ago - the town has entered its period of prosperity, bustling with construction. Partitio is age sixteen. (Music: "Oresrush, Pioneer Town")
- Shortly afterward - the town has entered its period of poverty; construction has been abandoned and the buildings have begun to wear down. (Music: "Oresrush, Dried Up")
- Present day - the town still bears the marks of its poverty, but Partitio's efforts have restored it to a level of prosperity. (Music: "Oresrush, Pioneer Town")
- According to Partitio in travel banter with Temenos, Oresrush was once overrun with crows. To get rid of them, Papp created a device known as the "Corvushooter": a wooden stick with a big metal pellet at one end, which it would fire at the crows. The metal pellets sold like hotcakes.
- When composing "Oresrush, Dried Up," Yasunori Nishiki sought to convey the idea that this is where Partitio starts his journey, the hometown where he learns to love business and use it to bring happiness to the world. Silver brings the town prosperity, and the same silver makes it “dry up.” The music's sound is classic spaghetti-Western, using Ennio Morricone’s music as a famous reference point, with lonesome whistling featuring in the night version.[1]
- When composing "Oresrush, Pioneer Town," Nishiki departed from the spaghetti-Western theme and drew inspiration from the country music of the American west, featuring a distinctive fiddle on the melody.[2]
