- "The stories that Cordelia writes are as good as any novel! Just reading them makes me feel as if I'm part of the story and experiencing all the things she describes." —In Grandport, sidequest completed
Noa Wyndham is a character in Octopath Traveler. She is the daughter of the wealthy Astor Wyndham as well as Cordelia Ravus's friend and penpal.
Profile[]
Appearance[]
Noa has long blonde hair and wears a blue shoulderless dress that hangs to the floor.
Personality[]
Noa is polite, as shown when speaking to Cordelia in the sidequest, Keeping Up with the Wyndhams. She also possesses a strong desire for independence due to her disability, and wishes to see the world. Though money is no object to her father, she doesn't ask for much and lives a very modest life.
Story[]
Noa was born with weak legs, and thus struggled with traveling anywhere on her own. 12 years prior to the events of Octopath Traveler, her father, one of the wealthiest men on the continent, began investing in an annual auction of gifts in Grandport for her sake.
Noa meets Tressa shortly before the annual auction. Tressa becomes determined to enter Graham Crossford's notebook in the auction, despite its lack of monetary value, in hopes that it will make a difference in Noa's life. Tressa is ridiculed during the auction, but Noa chooses her entry as the winner and continues the diary where Tressa left off.
Relationships[]
Cordelia Ravus[]
Noa met Cordelia when she was young, while the latter was taking a trip to Grandport. They became good friends and penpals, often writing each other letters and stories. When bandits began stealing their letters, Cordelia came to Grandport to check on her safety.

Etymology[]
"Noa" is a name of Hebrew origin (Hebrew: נֹעָה), meaning "movement." The name could also be derived from the Hebrew word "nacham," meaning "comfort" or "consolation." In the Bible, Noa was one of the five daughters of Zelophehad, who died without leaving a male heir. Noa and her sisters therefore inherited her father's property, although only sons were previously allowed to inherit.
Noa's name may reflect her walking disability, which renders her movement difficult, while her father's love and friendship provide her comfort and consolation. Like Zelophehad, Astor Wyndham has no male heirs, entrusting his property and prosperity to his beloved daughter.
In Japanese, "Noa" means "from love." This name also reflects Noa's beloved status, both by her father and by her friends.
The surname "Wyndham" is derived from an English name, meaning "Wyman's hamlet" or "hamlet near the winding way."
Trivia[]
- Noa bears a visual resemblance to Cordelia, as both women have blond hair and white-striped blue dresses.
- Noa cannot be Allured, Guided, Provoked, or Challenged.
