Profile[]
Appearance[]
Nikki has short red hair. He wears a blue shirt with a red vest.
Personality[]
Nikki is determined and frugal, as evidenced by his determination to subsist on a single crust of bread. He calls Partitio "too quick by half" to let go of his leaves, but later proposes a celebration and declares that food and drinks are on Partitio.
According to his biography, Nikki is highly impressionable and admires Partitio's generosity. He lost the first coin that Partitio gave him, but is unwilling to admit this to anyone, so he pretends that another coin is the keepsake instead.
Story[]
As a longstanding member of Partitio's posse, Nikki helps Partitio oust Giff and the other ruffians who attempt to take over Oresrush's profits. When silver prices drop and the town falls into poverty until the landowner's greedy grasp, Nikki and his pals fall on hard times. Struggling to find work, they scrape by on what food they can.
Eventually, the group suffers so much that unrest breaks out among its members, with Harry stealing Nikki's bread crust. At Partitio's orders, Harry returns the stolen bread, while Partitio splits his own bread among the group. After Giff shows up and mocks the starving group, Partitio decides that enough is enough and rallies his posse to confront Giff.
Together, Partitio and his gang oust Giff from his position of power, discovering that the landowner falsified his contract in order to cheat the townspeople out of their rightful profits. With this treachery exposed, the town of Oresrush can begin to thrive again. Nikki and his friends later share jokes with Joe, helping him woo the girl of his dreams.

Etymology[]
"Nikki" is a modern variant of the French name "Nicole," a feminine form of the name "Nicholas." "Nicholas" is derived from the Greek name "Nikolaos," comprised of the elements "nike" (meaning "victory") and "laos" (meaning "people"), so it means "victory of the people." In Japanese, Nikki means "two trees." The former meaning likely symbolizes Nikki's collective victory alongside the people of Oresrush when Partitio overthrew Giff's reign.
Trivia[]
