Story[]
During the events of Octopath Traveler, Mikk, Makk and their crew raid Rippletide and steal from various merchants there, including taking a wine bottle from Tressa. Tressa tries to stand up to them, but Leon talks her out of it. However, Tressa insists on chasing them. Leon lets Tressa buy goods from his crew. The key item Tressa purchases is Sleepweed, which she places in a keg of wine and delivers to the pirates as an "apology."
After Tressa gives the wine to the pirate crew, everyone, including Mikk and Makk fall asleep, allowing Tressa to safely go into the Caves of Maiya and reclaim the stolen goods. However, just as she prepares to leave, Mikk and Makk wake up and engage in battle with her.
After Tressa emerges victorious, Mikk and Makk do not back down but instead send their entire crew to attack Tressa. However, Leon intercepts them and saves Tressa. After a short conversation, the Captain reveals himself to be the fearsome pirate Captain Leon Bastralle, who Mikk and Makk admired as children. The pirates flee for their lives.
Mikk and Makk are later seen in Victors Hollow, where they reveal that they have sworn off the pirate life and now do honest work under Leon.
Upon completing Tressa's story, as well as Therion's, they become the subject of the side quest Mikk and Makk Make Good in Noblecourt.

This grants a high chance that the other pirate will protect the one who uses Me mate's got me back from single target physical attacks and skills, taking the damage and effects instead of the other pirate.
Once one of the pirates has been defeated, the remaining pirate will use We'll make ye walk the plank!, gaining a temporary increase to Physical Attack and Physical Defense.
