You who seek wealth will being your journey in the verdant forests of the Woodlands. There, you will cross paths with Herminia, "the Covetous Witch". Her all-consuming desires has stained the town of Valore with darkness and depravity.
The Master of Wealth is one of the first three paths open to the Chosen One in Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent, themed around "Wealth". In in, the Chosen One enters the syndicate-controlled city of Valore, and a chance encounter with gang leader Bargello has them join their efforts in uprooting "the Covetous Witch", the richest person in the Continent, who threatens to sink Valore into ruin to appease her avarice.

Chapter I - "The Covetous Witch"[]
The Chosen One encounter a young man talking to his friends, apparently planning something. As the Chosen One walks away, a flower girl approaches them and offers a flower for sale. The young man, named Bargello, stops the Chosen One, and reveals that the "flower" is in fact drugs, with the flower girl being forced to sell them, lest her brothers face punishment. Just then, Blackrobes approach everyone, upset over their business being interrupted, and attack. The Chosen One helps Bargello and his gang in fighting off the Blackrobes, with Tiziano stealing an invitation from them. Bargello asks the Chosen One to join their "family" in fighting back against the cause of the city's corruption. Meanwhile, the Covetous Witch, Herminia finishes preparations for her ball as those in attendance speak in fear of her and the great wealth she amassed.
Chapter II - "A Flower Blooms"[]

After the tragedy that occured within the Snowbloom Ruins, The Chosen One along with Bargello and his crew return to their main base of operations. Seeking out vengence upon Herminia, Bargello cooks up a plan to reunite Taviani's men who split off into 4 factions. As the other members of his party take care of the other three factions, Bargello with The Chosen One's help tries to convince Rosso and his group to join them but he is an incredibly stubbon man and it is only after beating him will his faction join the fight against Herminia. Afterwards, they return to base and there, The Chosen One and Bargello find only two of their three companions have returned with support and the third, Tiziano, has supposedly gone missing and is presumed dead. Later, Bargello decides to move ahead with their plan and leads his troop into Herminia's Manse, leading into the final assault and a confrontation against The Greedy Huntress herself.
