- "I felt like... you're someone important. That's why I followed you..." —Masked Boy
The masked boy is a minor character Octopath Traveler II. He appears briefly in Throné's story, following her in Oresrush.
Profile[]
Appearance[]
The masked boy has shoulder-length pale blonde hair, as well as green eyes beneath a white, circular mask. He wears a simple white shirt and black pants. Throné comments on how he looks similar to how Pirro did in his childhood.
Personality[]
The masked boy appears to be skittish yet curious, as he follows Throné on a whim, only to flee when she exposes his identity. In the end, his curiosity appears to get the better of him, though his character remains enigmatic.
Story[]
When Throné arrives in Oresrush to look for Mother, she notices that a masked child has been following her around. She sneaks up on him and steals the mask off his face, the sight of which startles her, but the boy runs off before she can question him. She decides she should focus on her current task instead.
Shortly after meeting with the Slaver, she encounters the child again. Throné realizes he looks just like Pirro did as a child and admits she feels as though she's met him before. He concedes that he felt she was someone important and followed her for that reason. When Throné asks who the boy's father is, he simply responds that he doesn't know who his father is. Before leaving, she acknowledges that that's one thing they have in common.

Trivia[]
- The masked boy's sprite is briefly used when Pirro is shown as a child during a flashback in the same chapter.
- After meeting Claude, the boy's circumstances become much clearer in hindsight - he is one of Claude's many children, used to foreshadow his existence through a seemingly coincidental resemblance to Pirro.
