- "... Hello." —Pure Vessel
Lostseed is a town in Octopath Traveler II, revealed during Chapter 4 of Throné's story. It is the ancient home of Claude and his many vessels.

(The out-of-place capital letters spell out "RESCUE ME".)
- Old Vessel - Scrutinizing reveals "Death Corruption Destruction" on repeat.
- Pure Vessel - "A boy who knows nothing."
- Broken Vessel - "A woman who has been bound to this land for a long, long time. She remembers that she was searching for something important that she lost, but not what it was - or even if it was that important after all..."
- Empty Vessel - "......"
- Hollow Vessel - "A girl who simply exists. She has lost all hope and closed her eyes to the darkness that has no dawn."
Chests[]
- Cursed Helm: To get this chest, wait outside the home at night where the Hollow Vessel stands. Within a few minutes, as dawn approaches, she will move away from it and walk to the entrance of the Deserted Highroad, allowing the player to access the home where the Cursed Helm is.

Etymology[]
"Lostseed" is comprised of "lost" + "seed," originally referring to the lost heir ("seed" referring to lineage) of the prince and princess whose elopement founded the city. The missing heir now also refers to Claude's descended vessel, intended to be possessed by Vide and become the "seed" of world destruction. "Lost" also alludes to the city's secluded, abandoned location.
Trivia[]
- The price to restore reputation in Lostseed is 15,000 leaves.
- The Thief's Guild hints at Lostseed earlier than Throné's Chapter 4, as the guild leader mentions how the thief in possession of the legendary Mooneater traveled to a "lost city," and never returned. Said thief appears in Lostseed, where the player can obtain the Mooneater from him.
- The Ruined Vessel's biography may be an attempted prayer to the gods, as he mentions the profession of each deity. Behind him stands a ring of eight candles, the same number as there are gods in Solistia.
- Rather than switching to the battle theme, "Abandoned City" keeps playing even during combat with Lostseed's villagers.
- When battled, Lostseed's townspeople behave quite irregularly:
- The Ruined Vessel uses the Break ability (which deals 1,000 to himself), along with First Aid (healing himself for 200 HP) and regular attacks, eventually killing himself with the Break damage. (Although marked at a strength of 1, he has significantly more HP than a regular NPC of 1 strength.)
- The Empty Vessel wields no weapon and will only use Fixed Gaze (which does nothing) until she is defeated.
- The Broken Vessel uses the Break ability (dealing 1,000 damage to herself), along with Void Flash (a weak light attack) and regular attacks. A single use of Break will finish her.
- The Old Vessel uses strong dark elemental attacks in repeated succession, eschewing regular attacks. (Although marked at a strength of 1, he has significantly more HP than a regular NPC of 1 strength.)
- Regardless of whether the time is set to day or night, a full moon glows in the background of Lostseed, a trait shared with the Deserted Highroad and Mother's Garden.
- Lostseed's provisioner and innkeeper are stationed in unusual positions, both facing backward and away from the player. Only the tavern keeper remains normal.
- A group of three candles sits between the inn and the Hollow Vessel's house, while a group of five rests beside the Empty Vessel. Together, these groups add up to eight candles.
- According to the Guide of the Deserted Highroad gondola, Lostseed is so small that it isn't even on the map. However, Lostseed is considerably larger than other marked settlements such as Ryu and Cape Cold, and as Lostseed is also located in the valley directly below the bustling city of New Delsta, it's difficult to explain how the city has gone unnoticed for centuries.
- Two chains attached to manacles are embedded into the walls of Lostseed, reflecting Claude's chain theme.
- Yasunori Nishiki composed the theme "Abandoned City" with Lostseed in mind, emphasizing the image of a gondola with a huge, iconic moon in the background. Given the situation, he composed the music with a hint of horror in the air. Something seems to be missing from the theme, which proceeds with chilling calm, as if devoid of all emotion. "Abandoned City" lacks a dramatic contrast between day and night versions, but the night arrangement has an even greater emphasis on stillness, which gives the piece as a whole a more hollow, empty atmosphere.[1]
- The young woman that appears in the Snowhares' Den during Throné's Chapter 2: Father's Route appears again at the entrance of Lostseed Castle during Throné's Chapter 4, now having borne Claude's child. It is unknown what happens to her or her baby after Claude's death, as both disappear from the game after the conclusion of Throné's story.
