- "Rawr!" —Linde
Linde is H'aanit's snow leopard companion, who has been with her since she was an infant.
Appearance[]
Linde is a snow leopard comparable in size to a tiger, and she has grey fur with black rosettes. A pink feather is tied to the end of her tail.
Battle[]
Octopath Traveler[]
Linde is H'aanit's default beast that can be summoned unlimited times to attack foes in battle. Her two skills are Sweep (Sword) and Pounce (Polearm) with a Strength Rate of 3, which remains static for most of the game. It will eventually increase to 4 as H'aanit levels up late-game, but by that point Linde is thoroughly outclassed by other beasts. Linde uses her skills randomly, but will prioritize skills that break shields in accordance with foes' exposed weaknesses.
Champions of the Continent[]
Skill[]
Summon Linde is the default skill for both H'aanit and her EX version. Like in the predecessor, it deals sword or polearm damage and will priotize the damage type dealt according to the foe's weakness, with the difference it costs SP.
Keeper[]
Linde's Spirit Ember can be obtained in the Exchange for 6,000 Awakening Stone Shards if the player have H'aanit. As a Keeper, her skill is Empowerment, granting her master the buff Dead Aim (guaranteed critical) for 1 turn.

Etymology[]
The name "Linde" may be derived from the name of the linden tree, which is associated with healing, fidelity, and love. Alternatively, "Linde" may stem from the Germanic element "lind," meaning "soft" or "tender." These meanings likely reflect Linde's loyalty to H'aanit and the softness of her fur.
Trivia[]
- Linde, like Therion, has inconsistencies between in-game sprites and official artwork. In her field sprite she lacks the feather on her tail, which is also missing in a few pieces of official art done for the game.
- H'aanit explains in the Animal Companions travel banter that Linde was given to her as a gift when she was a baby by a fortune teller, probably Susanna. H’aanit does not consider Linde a pet, but a comrade and companion.
- Feral specimens of Linde's snow leopard species appear as enemies.
- According to H'aanit when meeting the other protagonists, "Linde judgeth thee worthy. It is not often she warmeth to strangers."
- H'aanit tells Ophilia in her Chapter 3 banter in Stillsnow that Linde often plays games with the children in her village, and she seems to enjoy it. Also, "Linde is most proud of her fur. She liketh nothing better than to be stroked and groomed."
- The Four Talents travel banter reveals that Cyrus was once curious about snow leopard biology and therefore decided to undertake a careful study of Linde. Said study lasted "from morning to night," and as a result, Linde has become rather wary of him.
- Linde appears in concept art with either yellow or blue eyes.[1]
- The ornament on Linde's tail is attached with a leather cord, including a bead made of shaped, painted wood. The feather decoration is identical to H'aanit's; H'aanit attached this trinket to Linde when she was a young girl.[1]
- In the Japanese novel The Four Paths of Eight Travelers, Linde finds Ophilia after she has been lost in a blizzard and moves the cleric into a safe cave, carries supplies, fetches firewood, and purrs as Ophilia pets her. H'aanit mentions that Linde felt doubt in Ophilia's fingers when Ophilia after the events of Ophilia's Chapter 3, revealing that Linde was able to detect the cleric's worry (and, incidentally, implying that Ophilia's Chapter 3 canonically takes place before H'aanit's).
- Additionally, Ophilia compares H'aanit's bond with Linde to her own bond with Lianna, viewing the huntress and snow leopard as sisters.
- According to the novel, Linde is one of a type of magical beasts which possess remarkably higher intelligence and longer lifespans than ordinary animals, which makes them well-suited for more complex work and enables them to regularly make their thoughts and feelings known. As such, Linde has picked up some human language (especially the names of people and places) and understands all of the travelers' names, making Ophilia conclude that she is a full-fledged party member. Although Linde is puzzled when Ophilia prays for her safety—as prayer to the gods evidently isn't a part of beast culture—she approves of the way Ophilia prays for slain lizardmen's souls, as they are beasts just as much as she.
- In the novel, Linde skewers two lizardmen with her tail as if it were a spear. This may imply that the "Pounce" ability uses her tail to deal spear damage while "Sweep" uses her claws as blades.
- In Octopath Traveler II's Extra Battles, Linde is briefly summoned alongside H'aanit when H'aanit uses Coordinated Attack.
