Judah is a character in Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent in the Bestower of Wealth storyline. He is a loyal cultist devoted to Oskha's cause and serves as the Chapter II boss.
Profile[]
Appearance[]
His original clothing paints him as a priestly figure encompassing a white color scheme. In his battle sprite, Judah now wields a dagger and book alongside his clothing being soiled with blood.
Personality[]
Judah regularly refers to others as "sheep" and views himself as a prophet of his Lord. His determination to end slavery borders on fanatical and everything he does is in reverence for Oskha. He is prone to get angered whenever his Lord is insulted and he becomes obsessed with the notion of salvation. In his head, he believes himself to be heroic, although his actions result in violent murders to satiate his desire for universal freedom.
Story[]
Originally born as a slave to a rich master in the Sunlands, Judah grew up to resent the rich. After working years for this master, a random vagabond came and slew his master, thereby freeing Judah from enslavement. According to Judah, this figure "cut his master into eight pieces" and Judah viewed them as a god who came to free him. This figure would later turn out to be Oskha, and Judah began to fanaticize him as his Lord.
Much later in life, Judah is seen going about the streets of Sufrataljah and preaching to a slave how they should await salvation by believing in his Lord. Shortly thereafter, Judah runs into Pierro Della, Rosso, Levina, and the Chosen One who came to Sufrataljah seeking Oskha. Not knowing their intentions for arriving in the city, Judah asks whether they wish for salvation. After a heated exchange involving Pierro Della insulting Judah's Lord (without knowing Judah's affiliation to Oskha), Judah denounces the group and walks away angrily.
While the Chosen One attempts to break into the Sufrataljah Palace, Judah goes into the city and speaks to a crowd of slaves. Promising that their freedom is around the corner, he implores each to join him in a crusade for his Lord. After amassing a sizeable crowd, he ominously remarks how dawn is fast approaching and departs to the palace with a frenzied mob of slaves wishing for the end of their slavery.
Meeting up with his Lord, Oskha, the two launch a siege on Sufrataljah palace with the intent to kill Lord Scarabe. Together, the two make their way to the throne room and allow the frenzied mob to brutally stab their king until he is an unrecognizable mass of flesh. Moments later, Judah exits the throne room and encounters the Chosen One and the rest of the Bargello Family. Believing that they're there to interfere with his Lord's machinations, Judah fights the Chosen One and loses. While dying, Judah still remains faithful that his Lord's plan of eliminating wealth and servitude will be successful.
