Isla the Cait Scholar is a character in Octopath Traveler 0 and Champions of the Continent. He is capable of human speech, albeit littered with cat-based puns. In Champions of the Continent, Isla is the one of the eight cait sages, keeper of the lower levels of the Tower of Remembrance, a relic of an ancient cait civilization in the western Flatlands, around which the Nameless Town was built. He prefers to remain unknown to the populace and erases the memory of those he doesn't want to remember him. He writes daily letters to the Ringbearer Chosen, containing advice and rubies, and takes regular cat naps. In Octopath Traveler 0, Isla resides on the Isle of Sages, and later moves to Wishvale to continue his research.

Trivia[]
Isla is named after Hirohito Suzuki (former CotC Producer)'s cat.[1]
Shizuka Morimoto comments on the 7 days release art, "The scholar cats were more than worth the effort I put into all their rejected clothing ideas. The Champions of the Continent team are pretty strict when it comes to cat stuff..."[2]
