Influences are a game mechanic appearing in Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent.
Influence determines how the player will interact with the non-playable characters. Influence must be ranked up for further interacting in the game and for advancing some quest.
Growth[]
Influence can be improved by:
- Obtaining a character from certain Influence (i.e, pulling a Wealth-influence Traveler will reward the player with influence points for Wealth Influence and viceversa). The amount depends of the character classes.
- +10 points for 3★
- +15 for 4★
- +20 for 5★
- Upgrading a Traveler’s Job Board (i.e, upgrading a Power-influence Traveler will reward the player with influence points for Power Influence and viceversa).
- Completing Main Story quests (i.e, ...Fame Chapters will reward the player with influence points for Fame Influence and viceversa).
- Accomplishing certain feats.
Party Influence[]
Party Influence is the total of the influence of all travelers in the party. The Hunt mechanic rewards the player depending of the party influence.
Rewards[]
Raising the Ranks will reward the player with Rubies and Traveler Skills (such as buffs for increasing Gold/EXP dropped in battle, etc...). Said Traveler Skills will benefit the entire party.
