House Wellows Manor is an optional dungeon location in Octopath Traveler II. This haunted house was once home to the Wellows family, who were brutally murdered years ago.
To complete the sidquest A Mysterious Box, the player must bring the Mysterious Box from Merry Hills: Shrine Entrance to the room with slashed portrait on the upper floor of the manor. During the night, a ghostly woman will appear in order to receive the box.

Trivia[]
- This area does not contain any background music.
- A number of ominous occurrences take place when wandering the manor prior to returning the box:
- At night, a mother and child can be seen to the left of the main stairwell and a man at the right of the main stairwell. They will disappear once the player may their way to the side of the manor where they stand.
- Various sounds may suddenly trigger, including banging on the front doors, children giggling, and papers shuffling.
- A Devil Deer with roughly 15,000 HP, 7 shield points, and a singular weakness to swords may appear in a random encounter, being significantly stronger than the Devil Deer from Orsterra. Whether these deer are stronger due to some power in the manor or for a different reason is unknown.
- After returning the box and completing the related side quest, the sounds disappear and the NPCs are no longer seen.
- Aside from the temporary events from The Journey for the Dawn, this is the only known location in Octopath Traveler II in which no battle music is played during enemy encounters. The characters also will not pose or speak any post-battle quotes during a battle victory screen.
- After completing A Mysterious Box, the Worn Journal will appear on the Southern Timberain Trail's pergola. This diary contains an eerie account of what befell the Wellows family on its owner's birthday.
- A former servant of the Wellows family lives in Timberain. As revealed by her backstory, she was the sole survivor of the massacre, and she may be the anonymous servant mentioned in the Worn Journal, who presumably accepted a bribe from the family's murderer.
- House Wellows Manor is the first haunted house in the series, and is thus widely considered the eeriest of all dungeons.
