Etymology[]
"Hägen" is likely a variant of the Middle English names "Hagan" or "Hagen," derived from the Old Danish term "Haghni" or the Old Norse "Hǫgni" (meaning "protector") or "hagi" (meaning "enclosure"). As such, Hägen's name reflects his role as Z'aanta's protector.
Trivia[]
- In concept art, Hägen wears two braids on the sides of his head, each tipped with a pink-and-white feather. When H'aanit put a similar feather on Linde, Hägen would gaze at it with a hint of envy, so H'aanit made him his own versions.[1]
- The young village girls of S'warkii use Hägen's tail to practice their braids.[2]
