Trivia[]
- The Grotesque Monster may be a corrupted form of the Dark Hunter Petrichor after her sacrifice to quell the Sacred Flame, as the monster is fought in the same area that Petrichor dies and guards the Sacred Flame to stop anyone from rekindling it.
- The monster also drops the Black Bow upon defeat, a primary weapon used by the Hunter class.
- During battle, the Grotesque Monster is referred to as "the darkling," a term normally used to describe the Darkling of the Sorrowful Moon.
- The Grotesque Monster bears strong similarities to the Dark Entity, as both bosses are hideous beasts located on Toto'haha, are implied to be transformed versions of humans, and summon shrill-screaming spawn to aid them in battle.
