(I don't think this is where I should be going at the moment...) The following section contains potential story spoilers! |
In a secret laboratory beneath the city of Montwise, Osvald confronts Harvey, who summons the Grieving Golem to attack him. Osvald discovers the horrifying truth that his wife Rita was not killed in the fire, but rather twisted by Harvey's experiments into this monster.
Osvald is forced to kill the Grieving Golem, after which he learns that Harvey killed Rita and used her blood to create the monster. When Osvald finds a strange magic from the monster's remains, Harvey calls it the One True Magic: the power of the Shadow. Osvald learns that Harvey only befriended him to get close to his wife and daughter, both of whom were surviving members of the Lumina bloodline whose blood is essential to acquire the power of Shadow.
