Story[]
He was a leader of a bandit gang composed of former swordsmen of a small, unnamed kingdom who was attacked by King Riven's forces. He was tormenting the townspeople of Clearbrook until they encountered the Chosen One, "El" and "Charles". Upon seeing them, Gimel decides to withdraw, but not before threatening they would return after making preparations. Charles suggest to make a preemptive strike, so they moved to their hideout, the Waterpool Caves to ambush them, succesfully defeating them.
As Gimel explains their whole story, he remarks they aren't the kind of people who beg for the lives. After having a brief conversation with El about Orsterra and the future that awaits, Charles steps to support El's point of living to atone one's sins. Charles promised him when he returns to Riven, it will be a different one the bandit knew. After that, he and his gang were handed to Clearbrook's townspeople.
After Pardis III's defeat, Richard recruited him as a soldier and appointed to Clearbook, where he can be temporarily interacted.
At some point before the Bestower of Power, he was ascended to Captain. He, alongside Marianne, are seen escorting King Richard to Cragspear for the signing ceremony of the non-aggression pact.
When the G'rohan fleet passed through Riven, Gimel assembled a small squad to sneak into their flagship, bringing with them a large amount of oil kegs. They succeed in their plan, but they were spotted by the G'rohan soldiers, starting a fierce battle. Upon seeing himself in numerical disadvantage against the enemy forces, he doesn't hesitate in igniting the kegs by himself, killing himself and the enemies in the range. The fire severely damaged the ship, allowing the Chosen One and their allies to reach the Foreign Empress.
