General Rou, also known as the Wild Bull of Ku, is a character in Octopath Traveler II. He is a mini-boss of Hikari's Chapter 3 route, fought by Hikari's Challenge Path Action.

Rou has long brown hair and a brown beard. He wears dark armor, wielding two swords in combat.
Personality[]
Rou is a skillful fighter and deeply loyal to the throne of Ku. He seems to enjoy challenges, as he expresses disappointment at the lack of interference during his illicit arms dealings, but despite his battle prowess possesses the wisdom to recognize when to surrender. Despite his loyalty to Mugen, Rou appears to fear for Hikari's and Ku's futures, as evidenced by his conversation with Ritsu.

Not much is known of Rou's early life, though at some point he joined Ku's forces and worked his way up to the rank of General. His exploits earned him the nickname "Wild Bull of Ku" and he eventually became King Jigo's most trusted general.
However, when King Jigo is killed in a coup, his loyalty shifts to Mugen. One day, he is sent to Wellgrove alongside Ritsu to oversee a weapons shipment in a nearby forest outside of town. While there, they come across Hikari, who attempts to appeal to Rou to step down after dealing with his platoon. However, after moving Ritsu aside, he instead challenges Hikari to a one-on-one duel, only to be defeated by the young prince after his shadow power takes hold. Wounded, he leaves the area with Ritsu, but not before telling Hikari that the darkness will eventually consume him.
As Rou is leaving the forest, Ritsu confronts him on his decision to retreat, so the general confides in him about Clan Ku's bloodline. However, Ritsu doesn't believe him, prompting him to draws his sword and kill Rou for "showing weakness." His head is later brought back to Mugen with the fabricated story that he was working with Hikari, and despite secretly not believing Ritsu's story, Mugen is impressed enough that he promotes Ritsu to general in Rou's place.
