Ruins of Eld is a dungeon location in Octopath Traveler where the climax of Cyrus's story takes place. In these ancient ruins, Cyrus discovers that the lost tome From the Far Reaches of Hell is currently in the possession of Headmaster Yvon's assistant, Lucia. Within the ruins lies a foreboding mural adorned with runes in High Hornburgian, depicted as if flowing forth from a gate.
Description[]
Ruins of Eld is a ruins engulfed in the forests around Duskbarrow, containing an ancient library that slumbers beneath the trees. Vegetation flourishes throughout the ruins, from grass to bushes to full-grown trees. Sunlight streams in from the heavens, illuminating butterflies that hover in elegant flocks. In addition to bookshelves stacked full with legendary works about necromancy and the gods, the ruins contains a vast mural spread across one wall, depicting the mythical Gate of Finis. At the end of the ruins, a grand staircase sweeps up to a cliff surrounded by towering bookshelves, shadowed by whispering trees and the open sky.

- The chest containing a Refreshing Jam at the outer section of the ruins can be opened through the wall.
- If the tome From the Far Reaches of Hell is examined before Forbidden Gold and Trial of the Twelve, Volume VII, the valuable Original Tome will not be acquired.
- According to Cyrus, only the first five volumes of The Trial of the Twelve are extant.
- At the mural within the ruins, Primrose confesses, "Those paintings scare me. I don't think I've seen anything quite so... spooky."
- According to Cyrus's Chapter 4 travel banter with Ophilia, the Ruins of Eld date back to a time when gods and mortals walked together on the earth, before the Order of the Sacred Flame was established.
- The Ruins of Eld contain books otherwise lost to the ages—a rare collection curated by Lucia with the aid of Lyblac herself. As Cyrus declares, "such a vast repository of knowledge must have been accumulated over decades... even centuries!"
- In his travel banter, Cyrus tells Tressa that the ruins' library records the history of all that has happened: "Every event, from beginning to end."
