Cait (pronounced "kite") is a rare enemy in Octopath Traveler and Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent.
Battle[]
Caits have low HP, but high physical defense, elemental defense, and evasion. Boosted attacks are thus excellent at dealing significant damage to Caits. Soulstones and elemental attacks, which will never miss, are also effective.
Caits have a high chance to flee, but will also use the skill Grooming if it or another accompanying enemy is wounded.
A strategy to kill Caits is to use attacks that hit multiple times like Arrowstorm or Thousand Spears. Or you can always use M or L Soulstones. Magic always hits.

When summoned by H'aanit's Beast Lore talent, Caits will use the skill Luck of the Cait. Luck of the Cait functions in a similar way manner to the Dancer skill Bewildering Grace with the notable distinction that all possible effects are beneficial to the party.

The same effect can trigger multiple times, stacking durations up to a maximum of 9 turns.
In Champions of the Continent, Cait(s) can appear as a random encounter or as an Elite Enemy. As Elite Enemies, they wouldn't run away from the battle. The rewards are still the same.
