Elma is a character in Octopath Traveler II and a member of Eir's Apothecaries. She gave her life to save the team's horse, Jeyah. As a veterinarian, she specialized in the medical treatment of animals.

Etymology

"Elma" is a variant of the name Alma, which derived from the Latin word "almus" (which means "nourishing"). The name "Elma" may also be derived from the German name "Wilhelmina," which means "will" and "helmet" or "protection," translating to "will-protection." Both meanings speak to Elma's role as an apothecary, both in nourishing the health of her patients and in preventing them from incurring further harm.
