Duskbarrow is a small secluded town in Octopath Traveler and the setting for Cyrus' Chapter 4 tale.
Description[]
Much like S'warkii, Duskbarrow is a small village nestled in the heart of the woods. Ancient ruins surround the village's wooden houses, and the villagers take care to keep these ruins in good repair, as they date back one thousand years to the "age of legends."
The questline Ashlan the Beastmaster implies that Duskbarrow was once home to magical beast tamers, the Greenwood tribe, but their forbidden arts have since faded out of practice.

Etymology[]
"Duskbarrow" is comprised of "dusk" + "barrow," with the latter referring to an ancient burial mound. The "barrow" reflects the ruins of an ancient civilization buried like bones beneath the village, while the "dusk" can either refer directly to the time of day after sundown, the "setting" of this former civilization's sun (that is, its fall into ruin), or the darkness associated with the infernal knowledge hidden in the nearby Ruins of Eld.
Trivia[]
- The price to restore reputation in Duskbarrow is 6,000 leaves.
- According to H'aanit, Z'aanta once told her a story about Duskbarrow, saying that the villagers take refuge in its ruins during times of danger. In spite of their age, these ruins were built strong, using techniques no longer known to modern Orsterra.
- According to his biography, the village headman's only noteworthy responsibility is to smile and converse with the people, since the village is so small that any disputes can be resolved with relative ease by the residents themselves.
- After the In Search of Father side stories are complete, the Impresario and aspiring actors from Kit's storyline relocate to Duskbarrow.
