- "Hey there, traveler! How about a tune to welcome you to our fair town!" —Guitarist by the town entrance
Crackridge is a town in Octopath Traveler II. It is the setting for Ochette's Chapter 2: Tera Route and Temenos' Chapter 3: Crackridge Route.
(I don't think this is where I should be going at the moment...) The following section contains potential story spoilers! |
Crackridge is home to a large number of Moonshade Order adherents, who wear crescent moon necklaces and meet after dusk. They do not take kindly to visits from clerics, denying the existence of the neighboring Fellsun Ruins, though they appear to know of the existence of the Sacred Flame nearby.
Crackridge is also home to the Creature of Legend who serves as its guardian, Tera. Years ago, Tera saved the land from a volcano by collapsing the mountain into a valley. Since then, the guardian has fallen into a deep slumber in the chasm beneath Crackridge, shaking the town with tremors whenever someone disturbs him.

Trivia[]
- At night, a child NPC stands by the entrance to the Abandoned Road. Interacting with her will cause her to run away down the road, though she disappears when one enters the Abandoned Road, and returning to the town resets her position. It is currently unknown if this NPC serves a purpose.
- Ori can be found in Crackridge Inn recuperating from her ritual attempt after the player completes the Journey for the Dawn. However, she cannot be interacted with in any way for the rest of the game.
- According to a child living in the town, Crackridge was originally founded by three miners.
- The price to restore reputation in Crackridge is 4,500 leaves.
- The scholar who guards From the Far Reaches of Hell contains a biographical reference to the original Octopath Traveler, mirroring the message in the Ruins of Eld. His bio repeats the words, "Death. Pain. Destruction." The mural repeats the phrases, "DEATH DOOM DESTRUCTION."
- Crackridge's inhabitants appear to know about the Sacred Flame hidden in the Fellsun Ruins, as they enter the ruins after Ori's sacrifice to find her collapsed.
- According to a scholar living in the town, the wind currents in Crackridge follow a unique pattern, sometimes stirring up whirlwinds.
- When composing the theme "Village in the Ravine," Yasunori Nishiki aimed to create a town piece with a bleak, slightly lonely sound, like “Orewell, Beneath the Crags” in the original Octopath Traveler. In the theme's night version, its melody is played on acoustic guitar, creating a lonely atmosphere that differs from the recorder in the day version.[1]
