- "Have you forgotten? We are locked in a struggle for this land. If we can drive these monsters away, you will be next." —To Ochette and Juvah
Cohazeh is a character in Octopath Traveler II. She is the leader of the humans in Beasting Village and appears during Ochette's story.
Profile[]
Appearance[]
Cohazeh wears a purple robe and a golden circle, indicating her authority. She wields a bow in combat.
Personality[]
Cohazeh appears cool and collected, seeking to bargain rather than battle with the neighboring Beastlings. She demonstrates diplomatic cunning when offering gifts of meat as appeasement for her men's brash demands, while simultaneously seeking to gain Juvah's or Ochette's aid in rescuing a lost village girl. However, her desire for expansion leads her to seek advantage in her frequent territorial disputes with the beastlings, and her actions are motivated foremost by her people's interests. She refers to the Beastlings as "animals" and views their ways as simple-minded, though she later makes peace with their community.
History[]
At some point in her early life, Cohazeh met Lady Clarissa while studying together at an academy. Cohazeh studied economics at Montwise, and her knowledge and finances kept their research going before they both went their separate ways to pursue their goals. Planning to use her education to earn herself a lordship, Cohazeh settled on Toto'haha with a group of humans to found a village next to the beastlings. Attempting to drive the beastlings from their land, Cohazeh would often butt heads with the island's warden Juvah about the ruins' use to make homes, as well as territory issues between the two groups.
Story[]
Chapter 1[]
One day, after hearing of an act of aggression by some of her townspeople to the beastlings, Cohazeh, accompanied by a couple of villagers, brings food as a peace offering. She asks Juvah to find a missing child that was last seen near the Tombs of the Wardenbeasts. Despite Juvah's suspicions and misgivings, his apprentice Ochette volunteers to go find her, to Cohazeh's delight.
Following Ochette's rescue of the missing child and defeat of the Dark Entity threatening the village, Cohazeh returns to thank her and Juvah once more, declaring a temporary truce between the two groups before departing.
Chapter 3[]
While the beastlings prepare for the incoming calamity on the island, Cohazeh makes another appearance to Ochette and Master Juvah to resume discussions regarding land ownership. Despite warnings from Juvah about what was to come, she refuses to believe him and leaves the area. En route to the village she witnesses the beginning of the Night of the Scarlet Moon, and sees that her village has come under attack by shadow monsters. An enraged Cohazeh returns to Juvah and Ochette demanding an explanation, accuses Juvah of withholding information despite his warnings. However, she ultimately calms down and decides to have her villagers work with together with the beastlings to repel the attackers.
After Ochette defeats the Darkling, Cohazeh bears witness to the end of the calamity and finally makes peace with the beastlings, announcing that they will work together side by side from now on.
Lady Clarissa's Next Chapter[]
At the village entrance, Cohazeh reunites with Lady Clarissa, who is visiting the area to learn more about the local ruins. After discussing the history of the beastlings and reminiscing about their academy days during their visit to the ruins, they both agree to meet up again another time to continue their conversation.
