Jobs define the skills and weapons a character is able to use, and thus also defines the character's playstyle. Initially, each Traveler starts with one specific job, but shrines around the land will give access to sub-jobs. This essentially allows the traveler to have the weaponry and skills of another job, but they will not be able to utilize new Path Actions, as those are traveler-specific rather than job-specific. Equipping a sub-job will also change the character's in-battle sprite to wear the attire of the sub-job, while wearing the primary job attire in the overworld.
