- "Ngh. This village has but one season: frigid." —Local Man
Cape Cold is a town in Octopath Traveler II. This small fishing village is where Osvald's Chapter 2 ends.
According to the Mercantile Manuscript, great hauls of salmon, trout, mackerel, squid and more are brought into Cape Cold almost daily. In addition, many who dwell here work in agriculture or textiles, and lately a hardy species of cold-resistant barley has caused quite a stir.

Trivia[]
- The bodies of escaped prisoners from Frigit Isle occasionally wind up on Cape Cold's shores.
- At night, the head of a prominent family of aristocrats and his attendant can be found watching a specific house in the village until its lamps are extinguished. His intentions are unknown, but his attendant's biography hints that this aristocrat has a suspicious motive, and the aristocrat's biography mentions that he makes large donations to the village's fishing guild under a pseudonym.

Etymology[]
"Cape Cold" refers to the village's frigid location on the Winterlands headland from which it looks over the arctic sea. The name is also likely a play on "Cape Cod," a hook-shaped peninsula in Massachusetts, which highlights the town's fishing economy.
General Trivia[]
- In terms of overall feel, Nishiki composed "Snowswept Town" to reflect Osvald’s character in its slightly sorrowful tone. However, unlike the game's other Winterlands themes, “Snowswept Town” was also written to evoke the faintest glimmer of hope amid softly, softly falling powder snow.[1]
