The Bestower of Power is one of three new paths for the Chosen One to tackle in Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent, themed around "Power". In it, the Chosen One returns to Edoras on the day of the peace signing them with Altinia and Riven. However, the ceremony is interrupted by agents sent by Tatloch, the Empress of G'roha, who declares war on Orsterra.

Prologue - "Empress from Abroad"[]
The new rulers of Edoras and Riven now wish for nothing but peace, and the king of Altinia stands with them. The three countries resolved to sign a peace treaty. However, the signing ceremony was interrupted. Emissaries of G'roha to the west presented the queen with Kanzas's head and declared war on the entire continent. Orsterra now faces a new threat...
Chapter I - "The One that Lays Waste"[]
In order to defend against the new threat, the three rulers sought and alliance with King Dudek of Donescu. Their combined forces clashed against those of the western empire G'roha at the banks of the Cyphlo River. However, they were quickly crushed under the overwholeming might of Empress Tatloch. Alaune and the others barely managed to escape. Soon after, Empress Tatloch sent pieces of King Dudek to each country, demanding that they relinquish the rings to her.
Chapter II - "To Protect What is Dear"[]
To protect the divine rings from Empress Tatloch, the sovereigns of three nations set forth. Queen Alaune of Edoras, hoping to harden their naval defenses, sought a meeting with the lord of Grandport, the largest harbor on the continent. But Lord Eltrix was unreceptive to these overtures, for she still bore a grudge against Edoras. Just then, the forces of G'roha attacked, led by Pelagia the Conjurer, and Grandport became a sea of flames. Alaune and her allies managed to drive Pelagia off, and Eltrix pledged her assistance in saving the continent. No sooner had she done so, however, than a messenger crow brought the news that Richard's army had utterly perished...
