The Bestower of Fame is one of three new paths for the Chosen One to tackle in Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent, themed around "Fame". In it, the Chosen One returns to Emberglow in a time of crisis, as the remains of Tytos's Scarlet Wings have begin to assassinate members of the Church of the Sacred Flame, and attack the Traveler. The investigation of the mastermind behind these incidents soon has the party investigating the Church itself, leading to the uncovering of a dark history brought by those who seek fame...

Prologue - "The Shadow Apostate"[]
Time has passed since the death of Tytos, and Emberglow has slowly started to recover from the chaos and tragedy that befell it. And yet, another bloody ordeal has arisen. The Black Scarlet, survivors of the Scarlet Wings, now seek to murder high-ranking church officials. To put an end to this horrendous crime, Pontiff Julius has ordered Sazantos the Flameguard to seek out the Chosen One, such that their ring may shed light on the orchestrator of these incidents.
Chapter I - "A New God"[]
Father Monaris's daughter, Miza, concealed herself within the Cathedral of Tytos. Our heroes sought to locate her, as well as the mastermind behind the Black Scarlet. Their investigation uncovered Bishop Tarset's connection to the scarlet elixir. A hidden staircase in the confessional then led them to Tytos's underground research facility. It was there that Miza appeared unexpectedly, transforming Father Monaris into a monster. And yet this terrible tragedy was orchestrated by another... One calling themselves a god...
Chapter II - "Sacred Ashes"[]
After conducting research in Atlasdam, our heroes discovered that the text they found came from a book title The Accursed Night. It spoke of the church's darkest secret. A saint that has once aspired to goodhood had sought the First Flame, only to find destruction. Upon returning to the pontiff with this information, the city was beset by hoards of people transformed into monsters. Though they were repelled with the aid of Knights Ardante, the true mastermind, Ceraphina, succeeded in stealing both the Lanthorn and the First Flame... so that she might ascend to godhood...
