Bishop Bartolo is a townsperson in Octopath Traveler.
The bishop of Saintsbridge Cathedral, he renounced marriage and instead adopted a young boy as his own son many years ago. Despite not being related by blood, the two formed an unbreakable bond with their shared love of the Sacred Flame.
Story[]
During Ophilia's Chapter 2, Bishop Bartolo welcomes Ophilia to Saintsbridge as she performs the Kindling. There he tells her that the rekindled flames reflect the heart of each Flamebearer; he describes Archbishop Josef's flame as bright and vigorous, while calling Ophilia's "a warm and gentle flame."

- Bishop Bartolo cannot be encountered until you begin Ophilia’s Chapter 2, and upon completing the chapter will disappear from the game until you complete Ophilia’s Chapter 4, where he can be found in Saintsbridge Cathedral.
- Bishop Bartolo can be Challenged/Provoked during Ophilia’s Chapter 2, at which time he has a chance of dropping a Healing Grape (M) instead of a Mental Belt.
- Bishop Bartolo's son can be found standing on the left side of Saintsbridge's cathedral sanctuary.
