- The Astute Official in Atlasdam's library makes an anonymous reference to Cyrus: "I won't say any names, but there's a very handsome professor working at this academy. He turns heads wherever he goes." After the side story Zeph and Mercedes (II), in which Mercedes vanishes to Clearbrook and leaves the library desk unmanned, his dialogue will change to mention that she is on vacation.
- As for his character, the Astute Official is a staff member with a talent for reading individuals and intuiting their concerns; many who seek his personal counsel leave satisfied, as far as Mercedes can observe. When Guided, he remarks, "A sermon on the Sacred Flame is only as moving as its giver talented," and when Allured, "I have read the records of many a dancer, but you outshine them all." His Provoke dialogue is also amusing: "I shall protect all books and book lovers from monsters!"
- Stone griffins can be seen above the doors of both the library and Royal Academy.
- The Passionate Reader in the library has a unique combat ability: "Tome Tempest." She also responds to Path Actions with enthusiasm: when Guided, "Being alongside you, Sister; I feel as if I am a character in your story too!"; Parting Ways, "I hope to read the story of your life someday"; Challenge, "Your age-old nemesis suddenly appears! War is declared! How dramatic!"; and Provoke, "H-huh!? That thing appears to be straight out of a book of tales awry!"
- The Guard at the south end of this area was once in charge of the king, but reassigned to the more peaceable grounds owing to his leg injury. He has neglected to tell anyone of his recovery so that he can keep the post. He also happens to be uncommonly difficult to Allure for his strength.
- The Guard posted at the library entrance has been scolded several times for sleeping at his post, as well as gambling with some of the scholars. Ironically, he probably gamed with Russell before the book theft in Cyrus's Chapter 1, in which Russell stole the library key off his sleeping person. He can't be Guided, but he can be Allured, which elicits a "....." in response.
- The Merchant near the library entrance recounts the ending of Cyrus's Ch. 1 when spoken to: "They say Russell turned himself in to the guards and confessed his crime."
- According to his biography, rumor has it that the Guard at the palace entrance runs an unscrupulous business of selling trinkets to collectors of royal mementos.
- Challenging the Elderly Woman will elicit an unusual response: "Is this some attempt to win my heart? Well, you are a rather comely young man." Considering Olberic's age in comparison to the other travelers, this remark is rather ironic.
- The Handsome Minstrel who sings the Song of Sokrath has some amusing Path Action dialogue:
- Guide: "Guide me to a place where poetry fills the air."
- Allure: "Does a new muse appear before me...? I feel compelled to sing for you..."
- Challenge: "The world is full of fighting. Let us sing instead.
- Provoke: "I must protect my audience from such beasts!"
