Descended from a wealthy and prestigious line of merchants, Aston managed to further grow his family's fortune by creating a successful trading consortium and propagating it across the continent. However, he regrets not being able to save his deceased wife with his riches.
Every year starting 12 years ago, Aston runs an auction to display treasure from all over the world, granting the winner a prize of one billion leaves. When Tressa shares her notebook with Noa, he declares Tressa the winner of the contest and grants her one billion leaves, which she decides to leave in his hands to claim at a later date.

Etymology[]
"Aston" is an Old English name with multiple meanings. Derived from the Old English "east" and "tun" (meaning "town"), the name signifies "east town"; it may also stem from the Old English "aesc" (meaning "ash tree") and "tun," meaning "ash tree town." As a variant of the Old English name Aethelstan, Aston can also mean "noble stone," which most closely reflects Aston's wealth and aristocracy.
The surname "Wyndham" is derived from an English name, meaning "Wyman's hamlet" or "hamlet near the winding way."
Trivia[]
- According to one NPC, Aston Wyndham has enough money to buy himself a small country.
- Cyrus mentions that the Wyndhams are patrons of the arts and generous benefactors to the world of scholarship. In addition, they can trace their family line to the founding days of an ancient kingdom.
- The Wyndhams are legendary among merchants as well. Tressa remarks on her parents' saying: "Start rubbing your hands when a Wyndham comes calling."
- Although Aston founded the Merchants' Fair, the Wyndhams work with other noble families to fund it. The biography of a Bazaar Shopper in Grandport Markets reveals that he is a member of a noble family sponsoring the Fair, and the bio of an Aristocrat inside the Grandport Bazaar (presumably his wife) calls her "One of the noble families sponsoring the Merchants' Fair," who dictates how the fair grounds are to be decorated and the auctions are to be conducted.
