Ashlan is a character in Octopath Traveler and in Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent, which was released in Japan on 28 October 2020 and globally on 27 July 2022.
He appears in the Ashlan the Beastmaster chain of side stories. He and his father are the last members of the Greenwood tribe.

Etymology[]
"Ashlan" is a name of British origin, meaning "ash meadow" or signifying a clearing filled with ash trees. Alternately, the name may be derived from the Irish term "aisling," meaning "dream" or "vision." Ashlan's name both reflects his arboreal location in the Woodlands and the visionary aspect of his quest to free his father from a demonic power.
