Arkar is a character in Octopath Traveler II. He is an inventor dwelling along the Eastern New Delsta Highroad, where he labors to create ingenious contraptions befitting of his esteemed reputation.
Interacting with Arkar for the first time will unlock the Inventor job. As the game progresses, interacting with Arkar's empty display cases and gathering the required materials allows the player to help Arkar build additional inventions, unlocking a new Inventor skill with each one. When all of the regular inventions are complete, Arkar gifts the player with the All-Purpose Tool (the Inventor's Divine Skill), completing his sidequest.

Arkar has brown hair and wears glasses. Atop his head perches a feathered black hat and a pair of inventor's goggles, while the rest of his body is clad in a black suit and brown-orange striped pants.

Arkar is inventive and brilliant of mind, with an ego to match. He constantly boasts of his genius and skill, believing that his inventions will earn him the acclaim he deserves.

Etymology[]
"Arkar" may be derived from the Sanskrit name "Arka," a name for the sun god meaning "sun," "sky," "radiant." Arkar's name probably reflects his brilliance as an inventor and his heights of achievement.
Trivia[]
- Like other guild masters, Arkar lacks a Path Action menu and therefore cannot be summoned, battled, or stripped of his possessions or biography.
- Arkar appears to have a pet dog, as one sits by the steps of his house.
